Twelve Pack with SHAWNA RUSSELL By Preshias

1. What CD is in your player now?

Well, I rotate... Tom Petty, Ryan Adams and Ron Sexsmith.

2. If you could come back as an animal for one day, what would it be and why?

I think a deer. They are so graceful and peaceful.

3. If you could have dinner with a male and dinner with a female, who would they be?

Well, female would have to Stevie Nicks, she is so talented, and male would be Tom Brady.

4. Please finish this sentence; If I was president, I would:

Get back to the basics. Government supporting the Constitution. I think our government has gotten away from what our founding fathers based our Constitution upon, as in God We Trust.

5. If you could wake up in the body of someone else, who would it be for a day?

As a tribute to my grandmother Norma Russell, I would like to be her for a day. She is so supportive of me and our family. I want to follow in her footsteps.

6. What is your life's greatest gift?

I get to wake up everyday doing what I love to do. Truly my passion is music. Whether I am in front of five people to five thousand people, I am blessed to get to live my dream.

7.  Where were you when you heard your CD for the first time?

It was so funny, I was in my Uncle Tim's driveway and we had just gotten the CD back when it was ready. I was so excited. I think we all were!

8. If you could have written one song in any genre, what would it be?

WOW these are hard questions. Any one song? (pause) ... Can we come back to this one ... (smile) I have so many. Actually I have it. One that has touched me, and I am sure it has touched others, is Leader Of The Band by Dan Fogelberg.

9. I would have loved to been there when?

I would like to have been on the 50 yard line when OU beat Florida State for the National Championship in 2000!

10. Name five things outside food, clothing, shelter you would like to be stranded with on a deserted island?

For sure my iPod, (grin) my Taylor guitar (big smile) , Led Zeppelin Box Set, CD player (has batteries) and my favorite books. I love to read. Probably THE GOOD EARTH and TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD, these are my favorite two. I have a lot of others (Laugh).

11. If I could change one thing in the past?

I will have to say air conditioning. The mentality of the front porch days are gone. When families gathered together to be together with no distractions and no separation. You had to interact with each other. The front porch was the place. There was no going to your room and not telling what happened today. It was the family gathering place.  The innocence is gone from that era.

12. Who is your dream duet partner?

This is an easy one Tom Petty. I would love to do a remake with him on Stop Draggin' My Heart Around. Can I add one or two more?? (smile) a duet with Keith Urban would be cool, and Tom Johnston of the Doobie Brothers. Any song with him would be fine¦ (chuckle).

You go girl !!!

Rhonda Vincent ~ 12 Pack

1. What CD is in your player now?
James Taylor's Christmas Album. (Huge sweet laugh comes across)

2. What was the first song you ever sang in public solo?
On local television, station singing for the Jerry Lee Lewis Telethon,"The Bicycle Song". That morning oh about 5am... I woke up and decided I wasnt going to sing. Right before I went on my dad took me to the back room and convinced me that I was going to sing .., and then another sweet giggle comes out. "I could see the monitor and tears were running down my face, but I was singing.

3. Please finish this sentence, "My one wish for America is..."
(There is a pause then a smile) Uhh, let's come back to that. No I am going to go out on a limb and say it: Speak English! (Rhonda, I am on the same limb as you girl!)

4. If you could have penned one song in any genre, what would it be?
I think "Wind Beneath My Wings". I love this song and what a beautiful message.

5. Name your personal hero and musical hero?
Musical hero is easy, Dolly Parton. She is such an inspiration a multi-faceted. Being an icon as she is. She came be anyway she wants to be. What you see is what you get and her kindness is remarkable. As far as personal heroes I have many. My dad is my greatest influence and responsible for where I am today. My husband, without him I would not be here doing what I am doing. He was Mr.MOM. He took care of our kids and supported me. He had said, "I will make the living for the family," which allowed me to live my dream and chase my dream while for a very long time.

6. What are you two biggest blessings? Personal and career?
Personal would be family. If I look are all the areas, my husband books me, my brother produces the music. My daughters, I live for my family. I love performing. At the end of the day who will I be talking to? My daughters, my husband, my brother, mom and dad. Family is my personal blessing. To have a family not just a family but one that is there for me and is so supportive. I talk to others and maybe they don't get support from their family or husband and they ask me, "I want to do what you are doing, how can I do this?" They think there is a magic formula, that if I do this, this and this, if I moved to Nashville, if I do this? The key to that successful career blessing is the family that supports you.

7. What is the weirdest place, you've been asked for an autograph?

Probably the location. This man (he has done it twice) same place, comes up and pulls his underwear out of his pants (they were not nice underwear) then the third year he says, "'I am not going to ask you to do that again', and I said, "Thank you".

8. If you could have dinner with either George Jones or George Strait, which would it be? (She comes out with the biggest laugh and a twinkle in her eye). Probably George, uhh Jones, because he is older and my opportunity might not be there as long George Strait is a little younger and not that I don't love him too but...

9. If you could come back as one person for a day ... who would it be?
It would a kick to be Elvis Presley. Yes, it would be just a kick. Wouldn't that just be rockin'? (YES GIRL, I AM THERE !!!)

10. I would have loved to be there when?
Mumm, Well I remember the movie Loretta Lynn's movie, her first time in the studio with all the session players. The feeling of watching that movie was moving, and inspiring. I loved her. Just watching her raw and from the heart with the songs she had written and this wonderful created songs. I will say "Loretta at her first recording session in Nashville over at Studio B.

11. Your brother Darrin Vincent (1/2 of the duo Dailey & Vincent) co-produced this CD, what are his thoughts as an 'artist' now?
He did tell me, and I never noticed it before, "That I have always been in the back ground with you, it is a whole new experience being on this side of the fence. I am so proud of him I cannot even tell you excited I am.

12. If you could pin a movie title to your life, what would it be called?
Wow, the whole title: Live Each Day Like There Is No Tomorrow.

Doug Stone-Twelve pack with Country's Luckiest Star...

1. In an interview I read where you knew you had cheated death. Do you know God has you here for a reason?
I know I am here for a reason. I didn't know what that reason was for a long time. Then it came to me one day. People come up to me and say, "You know your music has taken me through some really rough times in my life." I said, "Well how?" They would say, "Well I can relate to it." For instance, "Better Off in a Pine Box" that song in particular has taken some people through the worst times in their life. I think my music is the reason why I am here. Through my music I have helped a lot of people. More than I even know.

2. What was the first song you ever sang in public solo?
God, the first song was probably... Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Yea, Loretta Lynn! I was a big, big fan of hers as a kid.

3. What is the weirdest place, you have been asked for an autograph?
One time I can remember that took me by surprise was right after I got out of heart surgery and I was doing Fan Fair and I was having panic attacks and didn't know what they were. I didn't know they were sometimes part of after surgery stuff. I was standing at the Epic booth signing autographs. This lady said, "Would you come up here, and I feel so sorry for you, about your heart surgery. And how are you doing? And you better take care of yourself." Unknown to me, I was in the process of a severe panic attack I thought I was dying. I said, "I think I am going to sit down over here because I am feeling light headed." She said, "Will you sign this first?" And I thought, "Before or after I die? If I die, she has the last one! (Big laugh) It was three weeks after heart surgery. I called the doctor. He said "What do you feel," I said, "What do I feel? I feel like I am dying!" I thought I was really was dying. I felt like life was leaving my body real slow. I will still have one occasionally even on medicine. Now I just wait it out. I know what it is and I will wait till it passes. I had one on stage one night and I thought it was going to pass through my body and go out of my feet. But I will die before this happens (small smile).

4. If you could pin a movie title to your life, what would it be called?
LUCKY!! (Huge laugh, when he reads the second line of my interview notes.)

5. Please finish this sentence: My one wish for America is...
Just get along with the world. It is the truth. Hank Jr. and Terri Clark song out now about, let's just all have a drink and get along. It's true. Get a drink. It is our leaders. We need to change leaders. Let's give 'em a drink and talk about it over a game of pool. More wars have been over the 'God' thing.

6. If you could have penned one song in any genre, what would it be?
If I could have wrote it? "On The Other Hand". Randy Travis, one of the best country songs I ever heard. I will tell you another one but I can't tell you the name of it. I was doing a family reunion show with Bill Anderson. They told me I was a legend. (Big laugh) Like wow, freak me out. But at the end of that show a guy that was in Porter's band played a song. It was the best song I ever heard in my life. Believe me I heard a plenty. Everybody in there was crying and smiling at the same time. When I left that room I was walking 5 feet off the ground. I left my medicine bags there, my shirts and everything there. He was a young kid that played keyboards for Porter for 12 years. It was a tribute to Porter. Let me tell you something, I never heard a song that good. Ed Bruce and Jim Ed Brown, Mickey Gilley, Johnny Lee, they all going, DAMN! I'm hoping I can snag it. I'll ask him, even though he has already recorded it and released it. I told my management company. Boys, let me tell you something, I just heard the best country song I ever heard. I am definitely going to use that song on the album, No doubt about it. I may even run in the studio and cut it. It is that strong, and I have heard thousands.

7. Name your personal hero and musical hero.
My personal hero is my mother. She is the one who taught how to play and sing. Literally sing. She taught me about my diaphragm and lungs how to sing from it. My other hero would be my daddy. As far as country music goes, I will have to say Jim Reeves is one of my favorites. He taught me how to sing too and just don't know it. (Big smile)

8. If you could have dinner with either George Washington or Johnny Cash, which would it be?
Johnny Cash straight up. I meet Johnny one time since I been in this business. He was a great statue of a man. Big man. I have been a fan of his since I was a kid. He done a lot and did a lot for country music. He went to the places where people couldn't hear it. He went to the prisons and sang. He was my hero. Well, another music hero. He really went out and did the things that a lot of people won't do. He sang the truth too. One of the last songs he did called "I Hurt Myself", or "Hurt". That song has a lot of meaning to it. See if I could feel the pain, see if I am still alive. Life has a way of beating your ass up. It will slam you to the ground and beat you up. Every morning I get up and go, "Thank you Lord". Every day and every second is precious to me now. This is why I am getting the divorce I am getting now. Because every day I was living mad all the time and that is no way to live. My heart would hurt and I finally said. I'm not living like this any more. I had enough. I had to leave behind my eight year old daughter. That killed me. But it was something I had to do to avoid another heart attack. We were like oil and water. I don't know what happened, but it happened. (I told him he could get along with the devil, knowing him as I have for some many years. He replied, "That's what I thought, too," with another big laugh.)

9. What CD is in your player now?
Me! (Big, big laugh) ... I like Me. (Another laugh) Actually Kenny Chesney is in my CD player. (Big smile again)

10. Where were you when you first heard yourself on the radio?
Well was in a radio station in North Carolina and we spent about an hour there. We had talked about the record and everything and the DJ asked if I had ever heard my song on the radio. I said, "Well no, not yet." He said, "I will give you five minutes to get to your car and I will play it." I really appreciated him for that. The DJ that played it for me was blind.

11. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Stupidity. I have done some stupid things in my life.

12. What are you two biggest blessings, personal and career?
Well personal...I have five kids that ain't sick and are healthy. Then I got four grand children. It is like this is cool, you know. It is like when you find out you are getting older and it's a shocker. Then you have to say, there is no stopping this. You know what my favorite thing to tell young people is? I say, "You know what old age is?" They will go, "What?" I say, 'It's a joke on young people and they will get it one day!'" (Big Laugh)

Last Call:

If you could wake up in the body of someone else, who would it be for a day?
Jesus Christ. Wouldn't that be cool? To think like he thought and to feel what he felt? That would be my main one.

Cody McCarver-Twelve pack (and then some) with Country's sexiest bad boy with a good attitude. Current single, "Through God's Eyes", CD to be release Summer 2008

1. What was your first car, and what age was your first speeding ticket?

A 1976 Malibu classic, and I was seventeen.

2. What was the first song you ever sang in public solo?
It was a song I wrote called, "Don't Ask Me Why Mommies Have To Cry". I sang it in church for a Mother's Day present.

3. What is the weirdest place, you have been asked for an autograph?

Well let's see, the butt! ... Let's stop there ...ummm yeah, butt cheeks! [laughs]
Oh you mean the kinda place. I was in LA shooting photos, I had Billy Bob Thornton on the phone (he was working with me) and this homeless guy comes up smoking a cigarette, telling me that my Blue Chevy got towed 17 blocks away... and proceeded to tell me how to get it back and how to go there. All the while Billy Bob is listening to this whole conversation. Then he [the homeless guy] asks me if I am some kind of rock star, and I said "No, I play country music. " The homeless man asked who with? I told him Confederate Railroad. He dropped his beaten up and worn back pack and pulled out a CRR cassette on Atlantic Records and ask me to sign it! That stopped me cold in my tracks. It left me with a new way of thinking. Still with Billy Bob on the phone!

4. If you could pin a movie title to your life, what would it be called?
"Whatever Don't Kill Me Makes Me Stronger. "

5. Please finish this sentence: My one wish for America is...
Well I better not say ..Let's come back to that one ...[15 minutes later]... I am
ready for number 5 ...PEACE!

6. If you could have penned one song in any genre, what would it be?
Amazing Grace

7. Name your personal hero and musical hero.

My personal would have to be children with special needs, handicaps, kids with problems. My musical hero is Johnny Paycheck.

8. You have not tried to hide the fact that you've had to face some tough times in your life, including a father who is in prison. How has your life experience affected the way you approached your music?
Ah man, I think that I wouldn't want to write or couldn't write or record anything anyone else had written, if it didn't touch me in some way or write anything that didn't come from life's experiences. It's totally up one side and down the other, you know? It's the kind of music I grew up on was that kind of music. We tend too ... If you been in jail you want to write about being in jail ...(BIG Laugh)

9. Many of your songs have lyrics that make audiences laugh out loud. For instance, "Red Flag," with lines like, "He can hold his beer but he can't hold a job and he creeps your little sister out," Do you like to use humor to tell a story in your songs?
Yea, I try to use humor. The one thing in life we don't get to do enough of is smile. I think when I record something like a 12 song album, I always told everybody I want it to be like, if you want to listen to it, number one, when you get finished listening to it, you'll know who I am, and number two, I like to take people on an emotional roller coaster. Know that they can laugh or cry or they can wanna drink a beer or what ever. My favorite thing I am better at or best at is some kind of humorous writing. I wrote a song for a DVD project called "They Gone Wild At NASCAR" and it's a DVD that shows the parties and campground parties, the weekend parties that go on at night car races. I wrote a song called "Haulin' Ass." It is about a girl that goes from NASCAR track to NASCAR track partying, and the guys are out there going around the track, but she is the one 'haulin' ass.' I love writing stuff like that.

10. You have been a member of Confederate Railroad for quite some time. Will you continue to play with the band while you pursue your solo career?
Yes, I still continue to play with the band to this day. I am fortunate because some guys are part of a band or part of a organization, touring out there on the road, and they can't go off and do other things cause it will upset members of that organization. Being with Confederate Railroad, as you know, well, they are one of the nicest bunch of guys around and they been very supportive and allowed me to do my material at our shows. So if you come to a Railroad show you'll getCody McCarver opening up the show, or Cody doing songs and material from his record and the Confederate Railroad show. So, I am blessed to have that, as long as they will have me or until I move on,... I'll be there. It works for them too, like every time I do a radio interview or like this interview I am doing now, I talk about Confederate Railroad. I am a huge fan of their music and the music we play. The best music in the world I could ever hope to play, so Ilove it. I will always talk about Confederate Railroad when I talk about myself. Then why is that not good for everybody? I do interviews that Danny doesn't have to do.

11. What are your biggest blessings in your personal life and in your career?
My biggest blessing personally is my daughter Raven. She is probably the reason I ain't dead. She is awesome and she spawned the first verse for "Through God's Eyes" and her asking about the homeless guy here in our town. I told her through God's eyes honey, he looks just like you and I. This started me writing the song. Then on a career, business level...it's just like I been doing for such a long time through good and bad and I guess just the fact that I get to play music and make a living doing it, is my biggest blessing.

Skyla Spencer ~ 12 Pack
Country music’s most pleasant surprise!

1. If you could wake up in the body of someone else for a day, who would it be?
Wow .. .that is a great question... I really think it would be my mother. She has been my rock throughout my whole career. She has sacrificed so much since I was little by taking me to dance classes, singing and always encouraged me in the performing arts and in pursuing my dreams. To be in her shoes to feel how she feels when she sees me sing or perform. Just to have that feeling of “That is my daughter.” So my answer is
my mom.

2. If you could have penned one song in any genre, what would it be?

8. Who is your dream duet partner and why?
It is funny you should ask me that. I have written a duet song. I am looking for a duet partner. Several… of course, home state boy Brad Paisley is at the top of my list. I have always admired George Strait. I have always loved the song "Cross My Heart." Kenny Chesney would be for my mom ... * sweet laugh* Women love him 8 to 80. It is hard to answer that one... lol. I did the best I Could! *laugh*

9. What moment in your life would you relive if you could?
Wow, what a question. I think the armed forces tour I did in 2006 for the troops. It was amazing and an incredible experience and it just touched me just to have that experience. I was over there for three and half weeks. They were so appreciative and it was gratifying. I still think about it every day and I want to do more, but it was my first time and they were so excited and you could feel they were so happy you were there. It really touched me.

12. If you could pin a movie title to your life, what would it be called?
A movie about my life...?? Oh a title to my life?? I am so blonde, (lol) The Journeys of Skyla Spencer, maybe .. All the different things I have done in my life, especially where I have made a difference.

He's from my area, and I know places that he used to run around and hang out and some of the old bars are still there. It fascinates me to know that he was there during his wild days when he was running around. My daddy was there with him sometimes.

2. What gets you up at 3 AM? Hunting or Fishing? Hunting, (chuckle)…

My grand daddy's hand me down El Camino. A '76 El Camino. After he passed away, my grandmother told my dad, you got to take this car, I got another speeding ticket. You know what I never got a speeding ticket in that car. I have had plenty of speeding tickets, just not in the El Camino. (Sidebar: I told Zane, "My name is on a mug in traffic school and he busted out laughing saying, "I have a plaque!") It had a 450 engine V-8. We all have the same mission as the United States of America.

You could have heard a pin drop in that noisy hall, when people realized what was taking place.  People were looking at this lady with her hands on my neck while I was singing "O Holy Night." There wasn't a dry eye in there. It was unbelievable. (There not a dry eye here now either)
